Welcome to Starshine Salon! I am the owner and a stylist at Starshine Salon.  I have been a make-up artist for 27 years and a cosmetologist for 25. I have previously managed my own salons, first in Boyertown, PA  then later in Beverly Hills, CA, and am happy to be back in PA.  I no longer take new clients, but am very selective in who I hire to maintain our high standards of customer service and creativity.

Janine(she/her) is the newest member of our staff and a super talented recent cosmetology school grad who is working toward being a color specialist. You’ll see her beautiful self observing our senior staff to learn more get to meet everyone. Whenever Mandy, Ava or Su-Shan see a teaching opportunity they may jump in and we’re so excited to see Janine grow in her craft. IG@hair.by.neen

Janine is behind the chair Tuesdays & Fridays 10am-2pm, Wednesdays 10am-12pm, Thursdays 12-8pm, and Sundays 10am-6pm. If Mandy or Su-Shan are out, she may have a longer Friday or occasional Saturday available.

Mandy(she/her) has 16 years experience in the beauty industry and has worked with a variety of brands. She loves working with all lengths of hair and gender expressions. Mandy is creative beyond hair with music and visual art endeavors.

Her schedule is Tuesdays & Thursdays 12-7pm. Mandy is not accepting new clients at this time. If you’re an existing client you may need to e-mail or text us since the online scheduling fills up quickly.

Megan(she/her) has 18 years experience and moved to Philadelphia from Las Vegas in April of 2020. She was previously a Brand Educator and Advisor for Joico which is one of our fantasy color brand options. Her portfolio can be seen on Instagram as @meganmenk

Megan left styling due to increasing chemical allergies. Her last day at Starshine was 10/2/24. Ava and Janine are welcoming her clients!

If the system does not show you any options on a specific day, it is likely that we are fully booked that day.

To reschedule using the online booking, you can find your new appointment first and leave us a note in the new appointment request to cancel the other appointment. We do not have it set up to otherwise move an appointment. We tried it and it was chaotic for our schedule.

The software connects and updates from the online scheduler every 15 minutes, and we have to accept each appointment to prevent overbooking. If you don’t get an immediate e-mail confirmation, don’t worry, we’re probably just doing hair and haven’t had a chance to accept it yet.

Disclaimer: Hopefully this is a more convenient way for both you as the client
and the business to schedule. Every so often there is a delay as the software updates. Occasionally, we get multiple requests for the same time. When this occurs, we look at the time signature of the request and accept the one that came in first.  We contact the individuals whose requests must be refused and schedule them as close as we can get to the original request.
