Jeez Louise! Long time no blog…  We are keeping busy, busy, busy here at Starshine.

We have lots going on.  First, in regards to the Starshine Club, we’ve loosened up a bit.  Initially, we required a 3 month commitment to join, the intention being that if you join we want to get you accustomed to pampering yourself and even good habits take time.  However, we’ve decided that’s too limiting .  If you would like to join for a month to start out, there’s just a $5 service fee added to the plan you select, but if continue membership it is deducted your 3rd month of membership.  We do still have to cap our membership to 50 members due to current availability.

We are SUPER excited about our current promotion that starts today! It is inspired by our color line Goldwell.  They’re offering winners complimentary color & cuts for a year.  We decided we could do that too, but with even better chances.  We’re hoping to raffle this contest by 3/17/13 to line up with our St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser, but mainly we will raffle when we have 100 entries.  For every $50 you spend with a purchase directly from Starshine Salon(services, products, accessories, and/or gift certificates) you receive 1 entry to win.  Your chances could even be better than 1 in 100 depending on how much you purchase.    Purchase is necessary for entry and excludes tax 2nd party online promotions.  If you win, but don’t prefer the prize, you may accept the value of the prize instead, though it may not take you through the intended year of services depending on how it is used.

The top prize is a year of color services with cuts & styles(up to a $1200 value).                                  2nd prize is a year of cuts with styles(up to a $600 value).                                                                3rd prize is a year long membership of the Weekly Escape plan in the Starshine Club(up to a $540 value and includes 10% off other services).

If you’ve been to the Specials page this special applies to donations you make:  If you bring in a donation receipt for any non-profit or verification of volunteer hours contributed to within the month of your service, you may use it as a coupon.  Donations between $10-$50 dollars or up to 10 volunteer hours qualify as a $10 coupon off the service total.  Donations of $50 or more or more than 10 volunteer hours qualify as $20 coupon off the service total.

We will be hosting an event to coordinate with this fundraiser on March 17, 2013 from 10am-4pm with festivities that include a cut-a-thon, shaving of the shavees, silent auctions, raffles and a bakesale.  If you would like your hair cut that day, cuts will be $25 per person for men, women, and children, plus $5 for a rough dry.  Please make your payment for the cut-a-thon through the donation page and use your donation receipt as a cut voucher(that way you get a receipt faster too).  There is limited availability for the cut-a-thon cuts, please make your appointments in advance.  For those who participate in the cut-a-thon, you may still use your donation receipt as a coupon for another service through the end of March.  For the sake of mathematical ease for all those volunteering, we are trying to limit cash transactions to live donations, raffle tickets and bake sale purchases.  The silent auction will have the options of cash or check payment, or credit directly to the donation page.  All checks can be written directly to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
